CARING FOR BATS︎︎︎

AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM
2022

BRIEF

Create an informative, playful and engaging explainer video that encourages adult audiences to care about Australian bats.

CONCEPT

Starting with in-depth research, I explored information about bats and the conventions and aesthetics of current explainer videos. I use a scientific and refined visual language, suiting the sophistication of the museum space, and the maturity of the audience.

RATIONALE

This video debunks bat myths to overcome misinformation, public vilification, and highlight their significance to Australian biodiversity. In a world of misinformation and fear, this video demands truth, respect, and care for such a vulnerable and misunderstood species.

I extend this respect to all First Nations peoples, including Elders past, present and emerging. I also acknowledged that First Nation sovereignty was never ceded. This continent always was, is now, and always will be, Aboriginal Land.
